Animal Iridology
for Cats, Dogs, Horses (Equines), Rabbits and Other Pets
by Gina McCulloch D.C., IVCA, IEBWA
What is it?
Iridology for cats, dogs, horses (equines) and other animals uses the iris (part of your pet’s eye) as a tool to evaluate the general health of your pet (similar to a herbalist’s and acupuncturist’s use of the tongue and a reflexologist’s use of the feet and hands).
It is often referred to as an alternative, integrative, complementary, natural and / or holistic evaluation tool for cats, dogs, horses (equines) rabbits and other animals and pets.
How does it work?
Iridologists for animals believe that the colours and patterns of the iris (which is between the pupil and white of the eye) can be used to assess your pet’s state of health.
Parts of the iris correspond to various parts and organs of your pet’s (e.g. cat, dog, horse, rabbit etc.) body. Any marks, signs or discolouration of the iris can be indicative of over active, stressed or inflamed body parts.
Iridologist use these observations to identify past, present and possible future problems. Iridology is not usually in itself an actual treatment. It is a non-invasive evaluation tool often used by homeopaths, naturopaths, herbalists and other natural practitioners to determine a required treatment plan.
What can it help?
Iridology for animals can be used as a general health indicator. There is evidence based research and/or anecdotal evidence that Animal Iridology has helped cats, dogs, horses (equines), rabbits and other pets with:
- Colon conditions
- Digestion problems
- Genetic predisposition to disease
- Illness recovery ability
- Inflammation
|
- Lymphatic congestion
- Nutrient absorption efficiency level
- Stress
- Toxicity in their body
